Marin Goes to DL; Stewart Called Up

Chicago - Julio Marin has gone down with a back injury, landing on the 60 Day DL. This hurts the Gangsters not only because they lose his bat, but his position flexibility (LF/RF/2B). Although by no means a whiz with the glove at 2B, he allowed the team to have an extra power bat at that position to help an offense that has struggled at times to score runs. With the 3-4-5 of Mota, Clemens, and Linden providing most all of the offense, the Gangsters had been struggling early in the season to score runs when Marin was dreadful. He had gotten hot in the last month and has 19 HR's this year. Called up to take his place is phenom Dick Stewart, he of the record $9M+ signing bonuse out of High School. Stewart homered in his 2nd Major League game and will help provide some pop and balance to a mostly right handed lineup.
Chicago expects some struggles (especially against righties) but needs Stewart to help out this offense.
